Reverie Sound Revue has released a new video for “You Don’t Exist If I Don’t See You”. The song is the latest from their recent full length Reverie Sound Revue, and the video is a perfect example of how a mess can be truly beautiful.

Reverie Sound Revue performs “The Leisure Lost”

Thanks to Spinner for hosting the latest blog tour video! Lisa Lobsinger and Patrick Walls perform “The Leisure Lost” off Reverie’s debut LP, which Rawkblog recently named one of the top albums of the year, calling it “a flawless summer soundtrack.”

Of the blog tour, Reverie’s Marc De Pape told Spinner:

“The four or so years it took to make the record reflect the distance and time between each of us, but I feel like it also removed certain pressures that go with being in a band. Pressures we consciously chose not to worry about. The result is our debut record, not our debut as a band. In fact, we’ve never played any of the songs on the record as a band. It’s very fitting that this tour I’ve shot and recorded documents the performance of the songs, in their simplest form, rather than the band trying to replicate what was intended to be, and should remain, a recording.”

Reverie Sound Revue LP out now, video tour news

After what seems like years (because it has been years), Reverie Sound Revue’s self-titled full-length debut is at long last in stores both online and off. If you haven’t already gotten yourself the album you should proceed with great haste in doing so. We know you’ll love it, even if you’re musical genre of choice is Norwegian death metal because what it lacks in pestilence, carnage and eternal blackness it makes up for in too many other areas to list here. While the band isn’t planning to tour, a compromise has been struck which we hope you’ll agree is a good one.

At the beginning of each week for the next 6 weeks an acoustic performance will be available for your viewing pleasure. This week we kick off the blog tour over at Canada’s finest music blog, Chromewaves. Reverie Sound Revue, new signing and new releases

We are thrilled to announce the signing of Reverie Sound Revue. We have been friends with (and huge fans of) the band since the early days of Boompa, and we were more than a little upset when they broke up a few years back. Then they decided to get back together to make more music, and we drank scotch and danced a little, and might have broken into song.

It took a little while to finish (a few years) because the band was spread out across the country studying math and architecture and art and such, and vocalist Lisa Lobsinger toured the world with Broken Social Scene more than once. So they were busy, and we waited patiently.

We listened to their self-titled debut EP over and over and over again, and are glad that come May 26, when it’s released digitally worldwide complete with a new bonus song, you too will be able to put the EP on repeated play. And even better, on June 23rd the very long-awaited full-length follow-up to the aforementioned EP, which is also self-titled, but is even more awesome will finally be in stores both online and off. You are welcome.
