Since the March release of Run Chico Run’s critically acclaimed sixth album, Slow Action, the Chicos have been touring constantly including two ‘cross Canada tours, one west-to-east coast USA tour and a heart-stopping showcase at the legendary South by Southwest Festival in Austin, TX.

The month of June gave the electro-pop duo a chance to cool their jets and take a breather. In that time, the Chicos made some really lovely new friends. So, with Slow Action hanging tight in the Earshot charts…

Back in January, our USA partner Caroline Distribution, and XLR8R magazine, teamed up to offer an exclusive Virtual Listening Station on xlr8r.com. When it launched, Run Chico Run’s Shashbo was one of the very first titles available. Awesome sticks.

It was such a hit and we got such great feedback from it that once Run Chico Run started working on their new album Slow Action, we knew we wanted to do it again.

Run Chico Run’s fifth album, Slow Action, was released on March 21…

“Word on the Street is the Chicos are making another album.” I am talking on the phone with Thomas Shields from Run Chico Run. He is at the home of his fellow bandmate Matt Skillings who is currently on tour with Carolyn Mark. This will be the fifth album from the Victoria-based Run Chico Run, and the follow-up to their 2004 Boompa Records release, Shashbo.
