Leeroy Stagger’s third full-length album, Depression River, is in stores today in the USA. The Canadiana troubadour’s follow-up to 2005’s critically acclaimed Beautiful House, has drawn early comparisons to Steve Earle’s Copperhead Road and Neil Young’s Harvest. Out through Boompa Records, Depression River is a deep and moving album filled with heartfelt confessions and observations shaped by a not-so-idyllic childhood in the rural outskirts of Victoria, British Columbia.

This fall will see Leeroy Stagger return with Depression River. Stagger’s fourth release in as many years highlights his ability to find drama in the banality of everyday life. From full out broken beer bottle rock to the aching ballad of a broken hearted dreamer, Depression River is a whiskey-soaked, full-bodied recording of a powerful singer-songwriter only just starting to come into his own.
